Doula Services

Meet Dr. Michelle Caracciolo, ND, our dedicated naturopathic doctor and certified doula, committed to supporting families through the pregnancy and childbirth journey.

What is a Pregnancy and Birth Doula?

A doula provides essential physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. Unlike midwives or obstetricians, doulas focus on enhancing the mother’s experience through comfort measures and reassurance.

Why You Should Consider a Doula

Having a doula can significantly enhance your birthing experience by:

  • Physical Comfort: Techniques like massage and breathing support pain management.

  • Emotional Support: Continuous reassurance to alleviate anxiety and fear.

  • Informed Choices: Evidence-based information empowers your birth plan.

  • Partner Involvement: Doulas help partners engage and support during labour.

The Unique Advantage of a Naturopathic Doula

As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Michelle, ND offers a unique perspective and additional benefits that enhance your birthing experience:

  • Naturopathic Insurance Benefits: Doula services can often be covered under naturopathic benefits.

  • Prescribing License: Ability to prescribe certain supplements during pregnancy and labour, ensuring your health and wellness are prioritized.

  • Acupuncture Services: Safe, effective treatments to manage discomfort and promote relaxation.
